Mad

Based in Southern California/ Kansas City, MAD got his BFA degree in Toy Design back in the year 2000 and has quickly become one of the freshest think tanks out there today. He has been working non-stop on his own licensed toy lines under the MAD Toy Design label for the past 5 years.

His first figure line MAD*LTM is manufactured by one of the top designer toy producers out there, Wheaty Wheat Studios. The line is currently one of the hottest brands on the market and is about to become even hotter with its “MAD*LTM Show Artist Series” about to drop later this year. There are many other new products in development ranging from toys, tee’s, prints, and more. MAD is always looking into new media outlets to express himself.

Apart from his production figures, MAD’s been in a handful of shows and contests creating one-of-a-kind pieces that push the design envelope to the next level. Expect to see a lot of new and innovative work from this up-and-coming artist in the years to come!

Andre

On the street André is known by his graffiti-artist alter ego, the tag Mr. A and for his concept “Love Graffiti.” Mr A is a funny, round face, with a huge smile and a wink that follows you everywhere, and now is all over the world — and often in pink! — a color that is pretty much taboo in the graffiti world, except when it’s André’s monochromatic style. The Love graffiti are tags of people’s names commissioned by their loved ones that he does in pop colors near where they live, so that they can’t miss it.

Unlike the past 20 years of street graffiti, where a street artist imposes an anonymous tag for an anonymous crowd — some merely staining a depressing urban landscape, a few becoming famous gallery artists, such as Keith Haring, Kenny Scharf, KAWS, Neckface, and of course Samo — André has hesitated to go from the street into the galleries. Rather he’s given a new sense to his graffiti art, first, by by-passing the walls of the gallery and introducing his imagery into clubs or night spots, which he participates in opening and promoting all over the participates in opening and promoting all over the world. In doing so In doing so he has proactively changed the nightlife of cities such as Paris, New York.

In 1989, André started tagging a top-hatted, stick figure character by the name of Mr. A on the streets of Paris, which earned him a reputation as a renowned graffiti artist. According to André, he has drawn approximately 300,000 Mr. A characters since the inception of his career.

André has been globally recognized for his work with graffiti. In 1989, André Saraiva won a competition organized by the French magazine L’Express. His graffiti spanned 3.20 × 2.15 meters of spray paint and stencils, which was selected among 25 other projects. He was featured on the cover of No. 2001 issue of L’Express. In 1997, he sold his paintings in a shop in Paris, from which he was spotted by Japanese patrons that brought him to the art scene of Tokyo.

André’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums. In 2002, he opened the concept store “BlackBlock” in Paris at Palais de Tokyo ; a creation around which he organized concerts, parades and other performances, and whose profits were reinvested in new projects art.

2010, André appeared in Banksy’s documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop.

2011, he participated in MoCA Los Angeles’ Art in the Streets exhibition.

2011,  work was also displayed at the Grand Palais, Paris and the 54th Venice Biennale.

2014, a solo retrospective dedicated to his work was held at the Museu do Design e da Moda in Lisbon.

Entrepreneur

He has been commissioned to design luxury consumer goods, including goods made by Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Bally Shoe, Tiffany & Co, Sonia Rykiel, Levi’s, Nike and Converse. His likeness has been featured in global marketing campaigns.[8] ·  [9] ·  [10]

Besides being a graffitti artist, André has served as the creative director and owner of clubs, hotels and restaurants in Paris, Tokyo, London, Los Angeles, New York City, Shanghai and St. Tropez.
